The Environmental Protection Agency (USA)  has published the third Contaminant Candidate List (CCL3) since the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) amendments of 1996. The CCL3 is a list of contaminants that are currently not subject to any proposed or promulgated national primary drinking water regulations, but that are known or anticipated to occur in public water systems, and which may require regulation under SDWA. The final CCL3 includes 104 chemicals or chemical groups and 12 microbiological contaminants, from which are 14 hormone-like compounds.
