More than 200 delegates visited our first CALUX® booth at the DIOXIN 2009 conference in Beijing. They were very interested in the usefulness of such a rapid, quantitative, cheap and easy-to-learn biodetection method for such persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in the low femtogram concentration range, allowing rapid identification of the source and solution to the problems.

BDS and KTE Technologies from Haifa, Israel, represented by the CEO and founder Dr. Katz, announced a distribution and service representation agreement for all CALUX® technologies end of December 2009. We are extremely happy with this professional partnership in Israel.

“After the start of more intensively testing for dioxin in food and feed in Israel the rapid, cheap and easy-to-learn dioxin screening method DR CALUX® is playing a key role in the food and feed safety control in the coming years,“ is Dr. Gil Katz, CEO and founder of KTE convinced. “KTE’s long time experience in the dioxin testing market makes us an ideal partner for clients in the governmental, R&D or industrial sector”.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to work with BDS. This partnership will enhance the availability of the CALUX® products and services to many new customers in the Arabic world, an area that shows tremendous growth potential.”

At the food/feed and environmental BioDetectors conference in Tel-Aviv end of March 2009 we were  delighted to welcome many key experts in the fields of environmental testing for POPs and endcocrine disrupting chemicals and to discuss the implementation into the regulations as well as possible future R&D projects.

Mr. Alfredo Montes Nino, President from Microbioticos, located in Sao Paulo and Madrid,  is also adding the DR CALUX® technology for food/feed testing, to their portfolio of state-of-the art bioanalysis technologies. Since end of December 2009 both companies start to convince the local authorities to start monitoring programs by including such screening methods for dioxins and dl-PCBs. We are extremely happy with this professional partnership in Argentine, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay and we are looking forward to learn more about the needs and usage of such bioanalysis tools in South-America.

Both parties plan to visit several key experts in South-America mid of March 2010 to offer possibilities of joint operations. Therefore we are looking at the moment for interested parties in or wide range of testing methods for dioxins/dl-PCBs, pharmaceuticals, hormones and other environmental key pollutants.

In Vietnam collaborative R&D programs have been started in the field of

a)

innovative natural products with Prof. Pham Quoc Long from the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry (INPC) as well as with

b)

in the field of biotechnology with Prof. Truong Nam Hai from the Institute of Biotechnology (IBT),

both under the umbrella of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The aim of both programs will be to apply and co-develop the CALUX platform technology for implementation in  the whole of Vietnam as fast screening method for all kinds of drug toxins, supplements, food, feed, environment, anti-doping, human monitoring and screening of natural resources.

Both parties plan to organise several meetings and seminars to exchange ideas/concepts of research topics for Vietnamese and Dutch research partners in the coming years.

In Korea we welcome a new collaborative R&D programs with Dr. Kya-Tae Lee’s NeoEnBiz Co. located nearby Seoul, in the field of R&D applications of our wide range of CALUX analysis systems.

The aim will be to apply the CALUX platform technology as fast screening method for all kinds of food, feed, environment, human and publich monitoring.
