Visiting Fellowships

A Visiting Fellowship was granted by the Research Center for Material Cycles and Waste Management of the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) from Tsukuba in Japan for Dr. Hidetaka Takigami. During his half year stay at BDS and IVM in Amsterdam he applied a panel of CALUX screening technologies for the POPs fraction of sediments. He presented his interesting study at the DIOXIN 2010 (click here).

A visiting Fellowship was also granted by the Centre for Marine Environmental Studies of Ehime University from Matsuyama in Japan for Dr. Go Suzuki. During his one year stay at BDS and IVM in Amsterdam he applied a panel of CALUX screening technologies for several wildlife animal species of higher trophic levels such as Baikal seal (Phoca sibirica ), Raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides ), Common cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) and Finless porpoise (Neophocaena phocaenoides ). He presented his interesting study at the BioDetectors 2009 conference (click here).
