In addition to BDS' currently marketed CALUX® bioassays, we offer services related to the use of these bioassays such as:
CONSULTANCY
BDS individually and with our allied partners have extensive experience of all matters of matters relating to exposure and measurement of high toxic/potent materials. We can provide unique capability to our clients in regard of these highly sensitive and poorly understood issues. BDS routinely undertakes:

> high toxic (dioxins) contamination incident management
> risk communication (to public and regulators)

REFERENCE MATERIALS
All analytical techniques require the use of reliable reference materials. BDS in conjunction with its allied partners has a number reference materials currently available and we intend to expand this aspect of the business further. Keep an look out at our news pages for developments in this area.
NEW NOVEL BIOASSAYS
BDS has a current pipeline with near and medium term bioassays on the way. Some of our near-end pipeline bioassays are being supplied to selected clients for use for research purposes only.
BDS sees the use of receptor mediated reporter gene bioassays as potentially significant tools for sectors that have a need to test the biological effect of test chemicals. These sectors include the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical sectors. Although BDS recognises that there will always be a need for some animal testing to be undertaken, for example in the delivery of final drug compounds, we believe that CALUX type assays may provide alternative biologically relevant analytical techniques that have the potential to significantly reduce the number of animal experiments that need to be done.
